Since our first newsletter, fueron cursadas dos invitaciones de alta relevancia para las integrantes del proyecto. Patricia Peña fue convocada por el Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología, Conocimiento e Innovación, para ser parte de la Advisory Commission Against Disinformation; mientras [que] Chiara Sáez fue invitada a participar en el Comité redactor del Informe de cumplimiento del UNESCO Convention on Cultural Diversity, under preparation by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage.
Both invitations reflect an appreciation for the prior documentation and knowledge systematization work conducted by the researchers in various topics within the field of communication while contributing to discussions aimed at a greater democratization of communications based on empirical evidence and applied research, as well as various strategies for advocacy and relations with public agencies, social organizations and media.
Research in communication already has a substantial level of academic and scientific maturity in Chile. However, the generated knowledge must not remain encapsulated only in the university space: being able to influence public policymakers and public opinion generators is urgent and important in order to contribute seriousness to the circulating debates.
Es en esta senda que se inscribe el proyecto sobre #IRCC_Chile con respecto al debate sobre la regulación. Nos interesa investigar para incidir con evidencia.
