As part of the International Congress of the Spanish Association for Communication Research (AE-IC) held in Murcia in June, the academic and lead researcher of the Fondecyt Project on Convergent Regulation, Chiara Sáez, presented the latest advances of the research she is conducting, focused on the comparative analysis of convergent regulatory institutions.
During the congress, the academic at the Faculty of Communication and Image (FCEI) of Universidad de Chile made two presentations. The first, entitled “Tensions and Knots in the Comparative Analysis of Convergent Regulatory Institutions””, addressed challenges and complexities in assessing these entities in various national contexts.
The second, called “Some Reflections on Community Audiovisual Aesthetics Based on Participatory Action Research””, explored how the active participation of communities can influence the creation of audiovisual contents with a distinctive aesthetic approach.
The latter research was conducted thanks to resources from the National Fund for the Development of Culture and the Arts (Fondart), and its results will be published soon in a book.
Finally, in recognition of her career and contributions to the field of communication, researcher Chiara Sáez was elected as coordinator of the Communication and Citizenship section of AE-IC for the 2024-2028 period.
She will share this new role with Alejandro Barreanquero, academic at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M). The designation reinforces the commitment of both intellectuals to the promotion of inclusive and participatory communication.
