We are saying goodbye to July with a new edition of our newsletter about convergent regulation. On this occasion, the editorial addresses two relevant announcements for the discussion about techno-media convergence<\/a><\/span> The first is the enactment of Law 21.678, which \u201cestablishes Internet access as a public telecommunications service\u201d. The second is the Executive\u2019s announcement of its intention to restart amendments to the TVN law. It discusses stating the channel\u2019s public mission in a more specific manner in the law, which is quite necessary so that the mission\u2019s content can extend to each board member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, there is a note on the participation of researchers Chiara S\u00e1ez and Patricia Pe\u00f1a in the UNESCO Conference on the role of media regulators in the governance of digital platforms<\/a><\/span>, held in mid-June in Croatia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also take the opportunity to share the details of the active participation of the Convergent Regulation team in the World Press Freedom Day Global Conference held by UNESCO<\/a><\/span> in our country in early May. Furthermore, you can find articles of interest on artificial intelligence, cyber-nationalism , the sustainability of media in the digital era<\/a><\/span> and a column listing the various events that will be held in Santiago in November<\/a><\/span>a month that is expected to be intense in Chile for discussions about governance, public policy, and the challenges posed by the Internet and digital platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
