Its mission will be to advise the Ministry of Science and periodically update the classification of high-risk and limited-risk systems. This institutional coordination space aspires to lay the foundations for democratic digital governance in line with comparable experiences such as the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, the law contemplates the existence of controlled testing environments (regulatory sandboxes) that will enable innovation and experimentation in AI under security and supervision conditions. The bill recognizes that AI governance cannot be limited to technology in itself but must be articulated with public policies on communication, cybersecurity, personal data and digital rights.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Patricia Pe\u00f1a, co-researcher of the Fondecyt Project on #Regulaci\u00f3nConvergente, reflected on this bill:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAlthough this bill seeks to establish clear rules for the use of artificial intelligence systems in Chile, there are still several open challenges.
